Pili, Camarines Sur — DA RFO 5 AMIA Team conducted the AMIA 2+ Presentation of Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) Reports and AMIA 3 Project Inception Meeting (Mainstreaming and Sustaining Capacities on Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation in Agriculture and Fishery Sectors in Camarines Sur) last Aug. 2, 2018, at Capitol Complex, Pili, Camarines Sur. Present were different agencies such as DTI, DOLE, DSWD, DAR, MLGU, BLGU, PLGU, ATI, ACPC, and Partido State University. Private traders also pledge their support as the potential buyers of the AMIA Village products.

The agencies presented their livelihood, enterprise, and financing programs and how their services can be accessed by the public.

Results of the PRA conducted to the new AMIA sites include construction of water impounding dams, livelihood projects, access to financial services, crops insurance, community organizing, the establishment of agri-tourism sites, large-scale industry such as duck egg production and processing, cassava production and vegetable trading and the introduction of CRA practices. Given the vulnerabilities to climate risk of the 2 sites, NIA, DTI, ACPC, DSWD, DAR, DOLE provided their insights on how they can help. Current livelihood and infra supports of the said agencies were presented and will be tapped by the AMIA Team, MLGUs and PLGUS.

For AMIA 3 (Mainstreaming Project), though funds are not yet downloaded, the PLGU CamSur initiated to start the project. They will provide counterpart. Activities were lined up such as PRA to their 4 covered municipalities, identification of farmer participants, training schedules and target CRA practices.
