GUIGUINTO, BULACAN–The Adaptation and Mitigation Initiative in Agriculture (AMIA) heightened awareness of the effects of climate change on agriculture among extension workers of the province of Bulacan in their Agricultural Extension Workers’ Congress held last September 5, 2017 at the KLIR Waterpark and Resort, Sta. Rita, Guiguinto, Bulacan.
AMIA was represented by two technical staff members of the DA Systems-Wide Climate Change Office (DASWCCO): Maki Bajit for the talk on the impacts of climate change on agriculture, and Wendy Dunasco for the live demonstration of the National Color-Coded Agricultural Guide (NCCAG) Map. The NCCAG was very well-received by the AEWs, making for an informative and interactive session. Their talk was preceded by a briefer session on climate change terminologies as well as adaptation and mitigation measures in the Philippine setting, which was given by Mr. Hilton Hernando, a Chief Meteorological Officer of the PAGASA.
