Pontevedra, Negros Occidental – AMIA Team of DA-RFO 6 conducted geotagging activities on the 100 hectares AMIA Village of Pontevedra, Negros Occidental, particularly in Brgy. General Malvar and San Isidro.
The 3-day (Apr 25-27) activity was spearheaded by Engr. Jac Demamay, GIS Expert together with Jhel G. Giner and Allen Fortit, Research Assistants with the supervision of course of Mam Mimi Fantilanan, AMIA Village Project Leader and Sir Patrick Sta. Romana, Asst. Project Leader.
The said activity went well with the collaborative efforts exerted not only by the team from the RFO, but also with the 100% cooperation of the farmers (to the point that we are starting the action at around 6:30 in the morning until 7:00 in the evening because we don’t want to disappoint those who came very early and those who were willing to wait even at night time because they still have some other things to do for the following day).
It’s a good thing also that the Kauswagan Agrarian Reform Cooperative of Brgy. Gen. Malvar allowed us to sleep in their office where we also did the geotagging activity despite our very short notice. Special thanks are given to the LGU represented by MAO Teody Sayson and AT Sir Nonoy who were there with us from the first to last day. Likewise, thanks also to Kauswagan ARC for sponsoring our food and for making our stay in their office comfortable and worthwhile. We headed home this afternoon with smiles on our faces because we accomplished 100% of our target for the last three days. Next activity for the AMIA Team is the M&E in Banate, Iloilo on the next two weeks of May.
