Banate, Iloilo — AMIA Team of DA – RFO 6 led by Engr. Jac Demamay conducted geotagging activities for the 100-hectares AMIA Village in Brgy. Libertad, Merced and Carmelo, Municipality of Banate, Province of Iloilo last April 18-20, 2018.

The three-day activity became very successful through the collaborative efforts of the AMIA Team headed by Ms. Carmelita Calumen Fantilanan, AMIA Village Project Leader and Ms. Rosemarie Esclamado Penaflor, AMIA Village Assistant Project Leader, Local Government Unit headed by Mayor Carlos O. Cabangal, Municipal Agriculturist – Ms. Ma. Luz Ferrer and most of all, the farmers coming from the eight active and cooperative associations in the AMIA Village (LFMPC, Bagata FA, Propoban FA, Puros FA, KMPC, Merced FA, MECA IA and Carmelo FA).
Next stop will be the geotagging activities for the AMIA Village in Pontevedra, Negros Occidental to be done by the same GIS Team in partnership with Mr. Paris Jacob (Patrick Sta. Romana), AMIA Village Alternate Project Leader and Municipal Agriculturist Ted Sayson on April 25-27, 2018.
