Benito Soliven, Lucban – Tilapias are now ready to be harvested starting today. The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Regional Office 2 (BFAR RFO 2) particularly Isabela Provincial Fishery Office (PFO) will spearhead the Harvest Field Day on August 10, 2018. Mr. Emerson Tattao is the Provincial Fishery Officer of Isabela who initiated the establishment of SWIP-Based Tilapia Production in coordination with MLGU Benito Soliven, Isabela. AMIA Village Lucban received the said project last April 5, 2018.

BFAR provided 2 cages for the AMIA recipients with 1,700 fingerlings per cage. As of today, regular project visit and with the assistance of Mr. Vee Jay Ujano, BFAR-RFO Isabela and Engr. Edmund Gauiran of MLGU Benito Soliven, AMIA Technical staff and the whole community of AMIA Lucban. 

This is one of the components of the Integrated Farming System as an approach in climate change adaptation and mitigation in the area.
